BACKGROUND

Alexandra Leavey has over 7 years’ experience in the credit union and co-operative space, with a focus on financial education curriculum and resource development. Her passion and dedication are centered on financial inclusion through the creation of educational resources that are tailored to the specific needs of underserved and underrepresented individuals, organizations, and communities.

Alexandra is a recipient of the 2023 Co-operators Young Leaders Award.

In her role at Alterna, Alexandra is responsible for oversight of the Community Financial Education Program through Alterna’s Community Impact Department. Additionally, Alexandra manages Alterna’s Community and Financial Inclusion Granting Programs, providing opportunities for funding to organizations that have traditionally been excluded from financing and where funding can have a significant impact on communities. Alexandra is recognized for delivering positive social impact through financial education and community relationship development.
