Send and receive messages
Now you can conveniently and securely send messages to and receive messages from Alterna Savings within online and banking.
Go to Messages by selecting Profile & Preferences in the navigation bar along the top of online banking to see the messages you have received, sent, or deleted. Under the Messages heading you can also create a new message or chat with our team directly from online banking.
You can also access Messages by selecting the envelope icon in the top right corner of your screen.
- On the Received online banking message page you can review message you have received.
- If the message has been opened, an icon of an opened envelope will appear on the left-hand side of the message.
- If the message has not been opened, an icon of a closed envelope will appear on the left-hand side of the message.
- To read or see message details, click the envelope icon, date, message type, or subject of the message.
- To delete a message, click the garbage icon on the right side of the message.
- On the Sent online banking message page you can review message you have sent.
- To read or see sent details, click the icon of an opened envelope, date, message type, or subject of the message.
- To delete a message, click the garbage icon on the right side of the message.
- On the Deleted online banking message page, you will find a collection of messages you have deleted.
- To see messages details, click the icon of an opened envelope, date, message type, or subject of the message.
- All deleted messages will remain in the folder.
- Using the New message feature, you can communicate directly with Alterna Savings from online banking.
- Choose a Message type from the drop down. Choose from:
- Compliment
- Concern
- Products & services (redirects to new message page for additional message options)
- Personal banking
- Personal loans and mortgages
- Personal investment
- Business Banking
- Other
- Lost or stolen (redirects to new message page for additional message options)
- Debit card
- Wallet/identification
- Cheques
- Security & Fraud
- Other
- Enter a Subject
- Write your message using a rich-text editor to style your message.
- Select the Send button beneath the message when ready.
- Choose a Message type from the drop down. Choose from:
TIP: Navigate quickly between your Received, Sent, and Deleted messages and/or create a New Message by selecting the quick links across the top of each online banking Message webpage.
Return to the Online Banking Homepage by clicking the Alterna Savings Logo in the top left-hand corner.
Select the envelop icon in the top right corner of your screen to see the messages you have received, sent, or deleted.
You can also access Messages by selecting,
- More in the bottom navigation,
- Find and select Get in Touch, and then select
- Messages.
To view messages, select Received, Sent, or Delete and tap a message in the lists to open it.
- If a message has not been read, a closed envelope icon will appear next to it.
- If a message been read, an open envelope will appear next to it.
To reply to the message, select the U-turn arrow in the top right corner of a message.
To delete a message:
- If you are in a message, select the Delete button at the bottom of your screen.
- If you are viewing the message in a list, select the garbage can icon.
Note: All deleted messages will remain in the folder.
To exit a message, select the “x” in the top left corner.
To draft a new message to Alterna,
- Select the plus icon in the top right corner of the screen. This will open a new message window.
- Choose a Message type from the drop down. Choose from:
- Compliment
- Concern
- Products & services (redirects to new message page for additional message options)
- Personal banking
- Personal loans and mortgages
- Personal investment
- Business Banking
- Other
- Lost or stolen (redirects to new message page for additional message options)
- Debit card
- Wallet/identification
- Cheques
- Security & Fraud
- Other
- Enter a Subject
- Write your message using a rich-text editor to style your message.
- Select the Send button beneath the message when ready.
- Send the message by selecting the paper airplane arrow in the top-right corner.
To search for a message, select the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner.
