Manage Interac e-transfer® contacts
Add, review, edit, delete, or view details of your Interac e-Transfer® recipients easily through online banking.
- Log in to online banking.
- Under Pay & Transfer in the top navigation bar of online banking, select Manage contacts to be directed to the Manage contacts online banking page.
- On the Manage contacts page you will see a list of saved contacts, including their.
- Name
- Contact Method
- Secret question
- Preferred language
- Next to each contact, you will see a(n):
- pencil icon for editing the contact information
- garbage can for deleting the contact
- arrow to see more details about the contact.
- Print, email, export pdf of details
- Beneath the list of contacts, you will also notice forward and backward arrows to help you navigate to additional contacts.
Add a contact
- To add a contact, select the large Add contacts* button on the right-hand side of the page to be directed to
- Enter the Contact details, including:
- Contact name
- Preferred language
- Notification method
- Mobile number
- Enter Security details, including:
- Secret question
- Answer
- Re-enter answer
*Add contacts by importing your contacts on your mobile device individually.
- Enter the Contact details, including:
- Once the Contact and Security details are entered, select Continue to complete a One-time passcode authentication to confirm your identity.
- You will then be asked to confirm your identify through a one-time passcode (OTP) authentication.
- An OTP will be sent by SMS (text) message to your mobile phone, or by email to your email address on-file.
- Enter the OTP in the space provided and click continue to Confirm the addition of the contact or Cancel to stop the contact addition.
- You will then see a screen confirming the addition of your new contact, complete with options available to print, email, and export the contact entry. Select Cancel to stop the contact addition.
Edit a contact
- To edit a contact, select the pencil icon on the right-hand side of the contact you wish to edit. This will return you to the input page to edit the contact information.
Delete contact
- To delete a contact, select the garbage can icon on the right-hand side of the contact you wish to remove to directed to a Delete contact page.
- From the Delete contact page, you can review the Contact details and Secret question. Next select the action you would like to take.
- Select Continue to confirm and complete the deletion process with options available to print, email, and export the deleted contact information.
- Choose Back to return to the Manage contacts page.
- Click Cancel to return to the online banking home page.
To see contact details
- To see contact details, select the arrow icon on the right-hand side of the contact. A pop-up will appear with the contacts:
- Name
- Preferred language
- Notification method
- Secret question
- From the pop-up, you can also print, email or export the information as a pdf.
- Click the “X” in the top right corner to exit the Contact details information pop-up and return to the Manage contacts page.
- Open the Alterna Saving mobile app and log in to mobile banking.
- Under Pay & Transfer in the bottom navigation of mobile banking, find and select Interac e-Transfer® and select Manage contacts to review, add, edit, delete, or view your e-Transfer contacts.
To Add a contact, choose the large Add a contact button.
NOTE: The Alterna mobile app will ask if it can access the contacts saved to your phone. By allowing the app access to your contacts, you can conveniently select contacts you have saved to your mobile device.
If adding a contact that is not saved to your mobile device, select the Person+ icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen to manually add a contact. You will be prompted to add information like:- Contact Name
- Preferred language
- Notification method
- Mobile phone
- Security details including:
- Secret question
- Answer
- Re-enter answer
- With the contact details entered, select Continue.
- You will be prompted to review the INTERAC contact details. Select Continue if the information is correct and finalize the add contact process.
If a correction is required, select the back arrow in the top left-hand corner of the screen to edit the information and select Continue to proceed to confirm and to complete a One-time passcode authentication to confirm your identify. - You will then be asked to confirm your identify through a one-time passcode (OTP) authentication.
- An OTP will be sent by SMS (text) message to your mobile phone, or by email to your email address on-file.
- Enter the OTP in the space provided and click continue.
- After completing the OTP process you will progress to the concluding page where you can,
- Choose to share the information by PDF, email, text message and other apps on your phone.
- View details to see contact details.
- Select Done to exit the Manage/Add Contacts workflow.
To Edit, Delete or view contact details select the stacked dots on the right-hand side of each contact. Choose the action you would like to complete and follow the prompts.
